So I hear you asking, “why are you reaching out to the community for help if the game has investors etc?”.
The simple answer is that our investors money will only stretch so far. We’re trying to compete with the bigger titles that have three or four times the budget we have. We didn’t ask for crowdfunding dollars but instead we’re looking for people who want to be a part of something special. Get involved from the ground up! Get your own work seen.
You can never have enough assets in game so giving this opportunity to the community is a way to make the game bigger and better. This has never been done before like this so we want our community to feel part of something new. This opportunity could also lead onto a financial return for those specifically selected to join our main dev team. Think of it as a modding community building assets for the game before it’s released. It’s a unique concept but something that we know could be something really special for those who are wanting to make games in the future. It’s also a way to get your own work seen by thousands and be credited in the game as a community developer. Open Source programs do it all the time so why not game development.
